I’m a young entrepreneur, active father, and husband to my wife. I have little time to participate in politics but always endorse the best candidates for Franklin County and Alburgh.
Corey Parent is the clear choice for State Senate, because he has fought for a strong affordable and prosperous future for my family as a member of the House of Representatives and will continue to do so in the State Senate.
Like me, Corey grew up here and chose to make Franklin County his home. His work for our community both in the legislature and on various non-profit boards from the St. Albans Skating Association to the Samaritan House and Franklin County Home Health Agency makes it clear that he loves our community and will fight for its future. Corey also understands the impact that seemingly small decisions made in Montpelier make on a small businesses ability to grow in Vermont. When Corey is not in the legislature –he in responsible for growing a private business here in Franklin County – the State Senate needs more people in it who understand what it takes to maintain and grow a business here in Vermont.
This year the legislature made it more expensive for my business in Vermont by raising the non-residential property tax. Now I have a decision to make. I either have less capital to grow or I have to increase the cost of my product. Corey fought against those tax increases along with hundreds of millions of dollars in tax and fee increases during his tenure in the House. His opponents believed he and the Governor should have given in to Tim Ashe from Burlington. That’s not Corey’s way and it’s not our way. I ask that you please join me in voting for Corey Parent to be our next State Senator on or before November 6th.
